Photo to T-shirt Maker

Put your photo on a real screen-printed shirt. We print it in two inks and let the shirt itself be the third tone, or in one bold ink, on light, mid-tone or black cotton tees. Upload a photo, slide the ink levels until it looks right on the shirt you pick, choose your sizes, and we print it and ship it within the USA.

How to put a photo on a T-shirt

Upload a photo

Any photo, picture, drawing or logo from your phone or computer, or one you already used on the site. Made a stencil with us? The shirt link in your download email opens it here.

Crop and lift the background

Crop to the part you want on the chest and remove the background with one click, on your own device. Nothing is uploaded until you buy.

Slide the ink levels

Two sliders decide which shades become ink and which stay shirt color: black and white ink on mid-tone shirts, black and gray on light shirts, gray and white on black. A Detail slider smooths away speckles.

Pick the print, colors and sizes

Choose two inks or one, then light, mid-tone or dark shirts, and fill in colors and sizes from XS to 3XL. The price for your exact order updates as you type.

We screen print and ship

Check out with a US shipping address. Every shirt is screen printed, and we email you tracking as soon as your order ships.

A real screen print, made from your photo

Most photo shirts online are printed like a desktop inkjet. Ours are pulled through screens, and this page is built around what a screen does best: a few bold, opaque inks.

Screen print, not DTG

Direct-to-garment printing puts thin ink into the fabric, and it softens with every wash. Screen-printed ink sits thick and opaque on top, so even white stays bright on a colored shirt, wash after wash.

Two inks, and the shirt as a third tone

Your photo becomes three tones: the darks, the lights, and the shirt showing through between them. It reads boldly from across a room, and a print with shirt color between the inks wears and washes better.

Gray ink makes white and black shirts work

White ink would vanish on a white shirt and black ink on a black one, so light shirts print black and gray, and the black shirt prints gray and white. The same two sliders work on every shirt color.

One ink, our best price

Choose One ink for a single bold tone: black on a light shirt, or white on black. One screen costs less to set up, and a set of one-ink shirts is our lowest screen-print price per shirt.

A print-ready PNG for anywhere

Outside the USA, or printing it yourself? Download the same design as a transparent PNG at your photo’s full resolution and take it to a local print shop.

The preview is the shirt

Your design is drawn on real photos of the shirt in each color, at its true print size, so you see what will arrive before you pay.

What people ask before printing a photo shirt.

How do I put a picture on a shirt?

Upload it on this page, crop it and remove the background if you like, then move the ink sliders until the preview looks right on the shirt color you want. Pick your sizes, check out, and we screen print it and ship it to you. You don’t need any design software: the page turns your photo into a print-ready design as you slide, and the printer gets it as a clean vector file.

Screen print or DTG: which is better for a photo shirt?

DTG (direct-to-garment) works like an inkjet printer on fabric. There’s no setup, which suits a single shirt, but the ink sits in the fibers and fades with washing. Screen printing pushes thick ink through a fine mesh screen, one screen per ink, so the print is bolder, more opaque and lasts far longer. The screens are made once per order, which is why screen printing is sold by the batch and the price per shirt drops as you order more.

How many shirts do I have to order?

Screen printing starts at six shirts, because the screens are made once per order. Mix colors and sizes any way you like to get there: three tan and three blue jean shirts in different sizes are one order. The page shows the price per shirt at each quantity, and the exact total with shipping before you pay.

Which shirt colors can I choose?

One shirt we trust, in the colors this kind of print looks good on: mid-tones like tan, warm gray, light olive, peri blue and blue jean; light shirts like white, light pink, banana cream and light blue; and black. Every shirt in an order gets the same inks, so an order mixes colors from one group: light, mid-tone or dark. The T-shirt buying guide explains why we keep the choice narrow.

What happens to the gray tones in my photo?

With two inks, every shade lands in one of three bands. On a mid-tone shirt the darks print black, the lights print white, and the middle tones are left as bare shirt, so the shirt color becomes part of the picture. On a light shirt the middle tones print gray and the lights stay shirt; on a black shirt the darks stay shirt and the middle tones print gray. The two sliders move the edges of those bands. With one ink, a single slider decides which tones get ink.

Do you ship outside the USA?

No, shirts ship within the USA only. Anywhere else, use Download the print-ready PNG under the Buy button: the same design on a transparent background, at your photo’s full resolution, ready for a local screen printer.

What shirt is it?

A Next Level 3600 cotton crew: soft, lightweight, 100% combed ringspun cotton, in a unisex fit from XS to 3XL. Your design is scaled to fill the front, up to 10 inches wide, centered on the chest, and every shirt in the order gets the same print size. More in the T-shirt buying guide.

Can I use a logo or a drawing?

Yes. Logos, line art and drawings often print best of all, because they are already a few flat tones. The page recognizes flat-color art and keeps its small details, like the inside of letters and thin lines, while the Detail slider is near Sharp. For a black and white logo, try One ink.
